Architectural & Interior Photography and Videography in Chennai

Architectural and interior photography and videography in Chennai for architects, interior designers, builders, real estate developers, hotels and commercial brands — interiors, exteriors, property walkthroughs and aerials.

At One Dot Direction, we shoot spaces the way they were designed to be experienced: the right light, the right hour, the right line.

Every angle has a purpose. We make sure it's seen.

The right visuals make people appreciate a space before they ever step inside. A badly lit interior makes a good design look ordinary; a well-composed one sells a project, fills a hotel and wins the next commission.

So we work on composition, light, perspective, texture and spatial flow — and we schedule around the hour that actually suits the building rather than the hour that suits the calendar.

What We Shoot

01.

Interior Photography & Videography

Interiors shot for light, material and detail — living spaces, suites, offices, showrooms and restaurants, styled and shot so the design reads clearly in every frame.

02.

Exterior & Architectural Photography

Façades, elevations, landscaping and structural detail, including blue-hour and twilight exteriors where the lighting design deserves to be the hero.

03.

Real Estate Videography & Walkthroughs

Cinematic property walkthroughs and real estate videography for project marketing, listings and launch campaigns — gimbal-led movement that follows how people actually move through a space.

04.

Aerial Photography & Drone Videography

Aerial stills and drone video for site scale, surroundings and rooftop detail, flown only where the location and local rules permit it.

Interior Photography in Chennai

Interiors are won or lost on light. We shoot with the available daylight wherever the space allows it, add fill only where it is needed, and bracket for windows so a bright exterior does not blow out behind a dark room.

Before anything is photographed we style the frame: cushions squared, cables hidden, reflections checked, clutter removed and one or two props added if the room needs a focal point. We shoot residences, apartments and villas, hotel rooms and suites, offices and co-working floors, showrooms, restaurants and retail interiors.

Exterior and Architectural Photography

Exteriors are a scheduling problem as much as a photographic one. Which elevation the sun hits, and when, decides the shot — so we plan the order of frames around the building’s orientation rather than turning up and hoping.

We cover façades and full elevations, entrances and approach views, landscaping and hardscape detail, and the material close-ups that architects actually want in a portfolio. Twilight and blue-hour exteriors are worth the extra half hour whenever there is a lighting design to show off.

Real Estate Videography and Property Walkthroughs

Real estate videography in Chennai for developers, builders and agents — cinematic walkthroughs that move the way a visitor would, entrance to living space to bedrooms to balcony, instead of cutting between disconnected rooms.

We shoot on a gimbal for continuous movement, with sliders and static frames for the detail beats, and cut to music with on-screen titles for area, configuration and location. You get a full-length walkthrough for the website and listing portals, plus vertical cuts sized for Instagram, YouTube Shorts and WhatsApp forwarding — which is where most property enquiries in this city actually start.

Aerial Photography and Drone Videography, Where Permitted

Aerials give a project the one thing ground-level photography cannot: context. Site scale, the plot against its surroundings, rooftop and terrace design, and the reveal shot that lifts from the entrance to the full elevation.

We are straight with clients about this: drone flying depends on the location, and airspace restrictions around airports, defence installations and some city zones mean permission is not always possible. We check the site before quoting and tell you at that point whether aerials are on or off the table.

How a Shoot Runs, From Recce to Retouch

  1. Recce. We visit or review photos and plans of the space, note which rooms face where, and mark the frames worth building the day around.
  2. Styling and prep. Snagging finished, surfaces cleaned, cables and clutter out, styling props agreed. This is the single biggest difference between an average set of images and a publishable one.
  3. Golden-hour scheduling. The shot list is ordered by the sun, with exteriors booked for the hour that flatters the elevation and twilight frames held for the end of the day.
  4. Shoot. Stills and video captured in the same visit wherever the brief allows, so you are not paying to set up the space twice.
  5. Retouch and edit. Perspective corrected, verticals straightened, colour and white balance matched across the set, and reflections or stray objects cleaned up.

You approve a selection before final retouching, so the images you pay to finish are the images you actually want.

What You Receive

Photography is delivered as fully retouched high-resolution JPEGs for print and press, plus web-optimised versions sized for websites, listing portals and social. The number of final images depends on the size of the property and the length of the shoot, and we agree it in writing before the day rather than leaving it vague.

Video is delivered as a full-length walkthrough master, a shorter cut for listings and ads, and vertical versions for reels and stories. Usage rights cover your website, brochures, listing portals, social media, hoardings and press — for the practice, developer or hotel that commissioned the shoot. Reselling the images to third parties is the one thing that needs a separate conversation. Unedited RAW files stay with us unless you ask for them in the scope.

Delivery Timelines

DeliverableTypical timeline
Preview selection for approvalWithin 2 working days of the shoot
Retouched photography set5 to 7 working days after selection
Walkthrough video, first cut7 to 10 working days
Vertical reels and short cutsWith the video, or 2 days after sign-off

Launch deadlines and press dates can be worked to if you tell us at the brief stage. Multi-day shoots, large developments and hotel projects with many room categories take proportionally longer.

Selected Projects

A photography page without photographs is not much of an argument. Below is a working gallery of interior, exterior, real estate and hotel frames from recent shoots in and around Chennai — stills as shot and graded, not renders.

Project names and locations are shown only where the client has given permission. If you want to see a fuller set for a specific type of space, ask and we will send the relevant folder.

Why Architects and Builders Choose One Dot Direction

We shoot both stills and film, so you brief one team, block one date and get a photography set and a walkthrough out of the same visit — colour-matched, because the same people graded both.

We plan around the building instead of the diary, we style before we shoot rather than fixing it in post, and we are honest about drone permissions and turnaround instead of promising first and explaining later. You get one point of contact from recce to delivery, and a Chennai team that can come back for a second phase when the landscaping finally fills in.

FAQs

How much does architectural or interior photography cost in Chennai?

It depends on the size of the space, how many rooms or elevations are on the list, whether video and aerials are included, and how many final images you need. A single apartment interior and a full hotel property are very different jobs. Send the plan or a few phone photos of the space with your deadline and we will quote against it rather than quote blind.

That is agreed in writing before the shoot rather than left open. As a guide, a compact interior might justify 15 to 25 final retouched frames while a large villa, hotel or commercial property runs well past that. We shoot more than we deliver, you approve a selection from the previews, and only the approved frames go through full retouching.

Yes — cinematic property walkthroughs are one of the main reasons developers and agents book us. We shoot on a gimbal so the camera moves the way a visitor would, add slider and static frames for detail, and deliver a full-length master for your website and listing portals plus vertical cuts for reels, Shorts and WhatsApp.

Yes, and we usually recommend it for exteriors. Twilight and blue-hour frames show off façade lighting, pool areas and landscape lighting in a way that daylight cannot, and they tend to be the images that get picked up by press and portals. It needs to be scheduled properly though — the useful window is short, so we plan the rest of the day around it.

Where the location allows it, yes — aerial stills and drone video for site scale, surroundings and rooftop design. But airspace rules around airports, defence installations and certain city zones mean it is not possible everywhere, and some gated communities and hotels have their own restrictions. We check the address before quoting and tell you honestly whether aerials are available for your site.

Previews for your selection reach you within about two working days of the shoot. The retouched photography set follows five to seven working days after you approve the selection, and a walkthrough video first cut takes seven to ten working days. If you are working to a launch or press deadline, tell us at the brief stage and we will plan the schedule around it.

Yes. Usage covers your website, portfolio, brochures, listing portals, social media, hoardings, awards entries and press, for the practice, developer or hotel that commissioned the shoot. Reselling or licensing the images on to third parties is the one use that needs a separate agreement. We also ask to show the work in our own portfolio, and we hold it back if the project is confidential.

Yes, and furnished spaces usually photograph better than empty ones. We do ask that the space is snag-free and cleaned before we arrive, with personal items, laundry, loose cables and fridge magnets cleared from the frames. We handle light restyling on the day — cushions, throws, a few props — but we are photographers rather than a staging company, so heavy furniture hire needs to be arranged separately.
